2019 Results!

In just three hours today, more than 6,500 volunteers cleared nearly 145,000 pounds (72.5 tons) of waste and debris from streets, canyons, parks and the coastline in communities across San Diego County for the 35th annual Coastal Cleanup Day, organized by the nonprofit I Love A Clean San Diego. The day’s environmental protection effort took place at 107 sites around the region and prevented the equivalent of 5,500 garbage trucks emptying their contents into the ocean.

2004 Results

Coastal Cleanup 2004 Results

The 20th Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day was a great success! With your help and support, much was accomplished at the 54 sites throughout San Diego County, and into Baja. As of 10/4/04, the totals are:

4,341 volunteers
125.25 miles cleaned
132,858.35 pounds of trash
21,976.25 pounds of recyclables
for a grand total of 154,834.60 pounds of debris

Statewide: 50,753 volunteers removed approximately 807,255 pounds of trash and 104,892 pounds of recyclables from 700 sites (approximately 800.12 miles) for a total of 912,147 pounds of debris.
